This major aims to develop highly qualified, global-minded and application-oriented talents in financial management with an all-around development in morality, intelligence, physique, and aesthetic. Graduates under this program are expected to have a good command of the basic theories and principles of finance, financial engineering, economy, management, laws, etc. Great emphasis should be put on financial quantitative method instruction and the cultivation of such abilities as financial problem-solving ability, research conducting ability and application ability. Graduates are also expected to competently engage in financial risk management, asset management and pricing, financial product design, etc., in banking, insurance, securities and other financial sectors.

Graduates under this program can competently engage in financial risk management, financial product design, financial management, investment and financing management, etc., in financial sectors such as banks, security companies, insurance companies, fund management companies, investment banking and government organizations. What’s more, graduates have also laid a solid foundation of professional knowledge for further study abroad.

Zhejiang Yuexiu University of Foreign Languages (ZYUFL), a full-time institute offering regular undergraduate education, is located in Shaoxing, the famous writer Lu Xun ancient city with a rich cultural heritage. The history of ZYUFL dates back to its founding in 1981. After decades of development, it was accredited in 2008 by the National Ministry of Education of China as a four-year university. The present ZYUFL comprises two campuses, i.e., Jishan Campus and Jinghu Campus, covering 1,300 mu (approximately 214 hectares) with a total floor area of about 420,000 square meters. The library possesses a collection of 1.82 million conventional books/publications and 1.14 million e-books.

Presently, the university has over 16,000 full-time undergraduates against a teaching staff of more than 1,000. Over 42% of the 1,000 regular teachers are full or associate professors, and 80% have received master’s and/or doctoral degrees. Also engaged in the university’s teaching and research are 100 or so foreign teachers/experts from such countries as the US, Britain, Canada, South Korea, Japan and so on. The university consists of 14 colleges/schools. The curriculum involves 15 foreign languages, including English, French, German, Russian, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Thai, Czech, Turkish, Polish and Bahasa Indonesia.
