The Sustainability Studies program offers students a unique opportunity to develop expertise in science, business, and the social sciences. This interdisciplinary program enables students to become omnibus resources for government, private industry, and not-for-profit organizations to create and maintain sustainable operations. Students will develop the knowledge and the ability to synthesize the core ideas of sustainability and how they relate to the environment, culture, social equity, and economics. Sustainability Studies will produce students with significant strengths in applied problem-solving skills to develop a sustainable Earth.

The best of both worlds: the USF St. Petersburg campus provides many of the advantages of a large public university campus while maintaining the ability to offer small class sizes in a close-knit learning environment. We are the only public research university campus located in Pinellas County, and students can choose from undergraduate and graduate programs across several USF colleges.

Award-winning faculty at the St. Petersburg campus have earned grants from a variety of major institutions, including the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Education, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The St. Petersburg campus is recognized for its significant commitment to community involvement and civic engagement by the Carnegie Foundation for Teaching.
