The Certificate in Closely-Held Business Taxation from the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management helps you develop expertise in dealing with non-public businesses. The 12-credit graduate program can be completed in just nine months.
During the program, you'll study small business corporations, compensation, partnership taxation, wealth transfer, property transactions, and more. Our instructors have decades of teaching experience, as well as a deep professional understanding of the tax industry.
There are a number of ways you can apply the skills you learn in the Certificate in Closely-Held Business program. All courses in the certificate count toward accounting hours required to sit for the CPA exam, if that's a goal you have. If you're already a CPA, you can qualify for CPE credit. Upon completion, you'll be able to use your new skills immediately in your current role, and if you choose to continue your education, you can transfer all of your certificate credits into our Master of Business Taxation program. The Carlson School of Management has a prestigious career center that offers an array of services to prepare students to enter and navigate the job market.
Employees from our corporate partner organizations are automatically eligible for a 15% tuition discount.
