The Music Program provides pre-professional studies for students who wish to major in music in a liberal arts setting. The curriculum includes Applied Music, Opera Workshop, Performance (piano and voice), Music Theory, Music History, Music Literature, and Music Education (including classes in instrumental methods and materials). Within the program, students from across the campus may participate in the Tougaloo College Concert Choir and its Ensembles and the Instrumental Ensemble. The Music Program provides for the College and surrounding community's cultural and aesthetic enrichment through its instructional programs, lectures, concerts, and recitals.
