As a cinematographer, you must understand and modulate camera movement, camera placement, composition and, most importantly, lighting. Take charge of a film’s narrative through powerful imagery and become a master visual storyteller. What are you waiting for?
Our conservatory structure allows students to select an industry-focused specialization based on their individual interests. As a student, you’ll learn how to enhance a story through the use of lighting and composition while working with industry-standard camera equipment on a live set.
You’ll use the same equipment used by the pros. We outfit you with a retina display MacBook laptop loaded with software including Avid Media Composer, Final Draft, Movie Magic Budgeting, Movie Magic Scheduling, Adobe Creative Cloud and MS Office.*

With a thriving career in film , Brandon Trost has amassed an impressive list of movie credits in his young career. It’s safe to say that moviemaking is in Trost’s blood. His father worked in special effects, his grandfather was a First Assistant Director and his great-grandparents worked as stunt actors. After attending The L.A. Film School, Trost went on to become a successful cinematographer with contributions to popular feature films, award-winning films, documentaries, short films, and commercials.
More recently, Trost worked as the D.P. on The Disaster Artist with James Franco. He’s also collaborated with the actor, comedian and filmmaker Seth Rogen on several feature films, including The Interview; Neighbors and Neighbors 2 : Sorority Rising; The Night Before; and This Is the End (D.P.). Trost credited his work on the 2009 film, Crank as his first big D.P. job.
