In recent years, the importance of social workers and mental health workers, who are professionals in social welfare, has increased. These specialists are called social workers, and are aimed at children, the elderly, people with disabilities, etc. in various places such as welfare facilities, business establishments, medical institutions, social welfare councils, government agencies, prisons, and conservation observation stations. I am active.

In the Department of Social Welfare of our university, we are focusing on training social workers who have practical skills. Focusing on the person in need of support and the environment surrounding the person, you can learn a wide range of topics, from assistance to individuals to working on measures, based on knowledge in the micro and macro fields. 首都体育学院is the only higher physical education college in Beijing. In 1960, it was transformed into Beijing Normal University of Physical Education. In 1962, it was merged into Beijing Normal University. In 1979, the Beijing Normal University of Physical Education was restored. In 2000, it was renamed the首都体育学院.
