Bachelor of Divinity: Teologija sa Pastoralnim Studijama

The BD in Theology with Pastoral Studies invites students to explore issues of Scripture and Christian belief, lived ethics, Christian spirituality, and mission. Students engage with the biblical story, and in a supportive context, explore the range and richness of Christian theology and history to discover and develop ways of living out strong convictions and informed faith.

The BD programme at SBC aims to be both informative and formative. This takes place when what is believed is earthed in practice and is shaped and developed in a supportive community context.

For those studying for Baptist ministry, the key competencies required by both the Baptist Union of Scotland and the Baptist Union of Great Britain are integrated into the overall learning experience.

Recently we were challenged to think about the type of College that we are and what we aim to be. In many ways, our vision statement articulates what we already are rather than something we are trying to become. However, at the same time, it helps us identify what we value and what we hope all students and friends of the College experience when they come to Scottish Baptist College. As we came together to form this vision we also realised that a vision shouldn’t be static but rather a dynamic statement that reflects the continual development of College life, so we continually remind ourselves of it and revisit to see if it needs reinvigorating.
