Do you want a job where children and young people or people with special needs are in focus? Then the education for Pedagogical Assistant is for you.
As a Pedagogical Assistant, you work with children, young people, or adults with special needs. They all need care and support from an educational angle. A Pedagogical Assistant can get a job in crèches, kindergartens, schools, and after-school clubs or as a daycare worker in their own home. You can also work with adults with disabilities in, for example, housing.
Basic course 1 (20 weeks) is for you who come directly from the 9th or 10th grade of primary school and start your upper secondary education. You can take Basic Course 1 with or without EUX.
Basic course 1 is the first step in your coherent training course for Social and health assistant, Social and health assistant, or Pedagogical assistant. Here you get the opportunity to clarify your wishes and opportunities for education and prepare yourself to take Basic Course 2.
Basic course 2 (20 weeks) PAU is for you who have completed Basic course one or for you who completed primary school more than 14 months before the start of education.
At Basic Course 2 PAU, you will work with subjects that specialize in your main education.
In the Main Course (2 years, one month), you have education-specific subjects, basic subjects, elective subjects, and particular optional subjects. The teaching is divided into themes of different duration.
You learn and gain experience with:
Developing games and activities - indoors and outdoors
Activities that support children's language, creative and motor development
Use of digital media in daycare institutions
Care and support for children and young people from a pedagogical approach
Your role in a professional-pedagogical professional community
