Why this degree?

Acquiring a Ph.D. degree will equip students with advanced technical knowledge and skills in the areas of mechanical engineering through course work, independent creative research, and communication necessary to seek career opportunities in the industry, national labs, or academia.

What can you expect?

• Complete the course work in consultation with faculty adviser/s.
• The faculty research adviser/s and student prepare a plan of study that is approved by the department chair and the dean of the Graduate School.
• Carry out creative research in close consultation with faculty adviser/s.
• Once admitted into Auburn Engineering's graduate online program, you will work with the graduate program officer to create a plan of study.
