American David Livingstone University of Florida was founded in December 2008 as a multinational and transcontinental higher educational institution. Aim is to provide high quality on-line distance learning based on biblical foundations.

The university has unique opportunities for further development, as its methods are built around the idea of a culturally sensitive adaptation and integration of students from different countries into the global cross cultural society. Competent Christian higher education is needed.

David Livingstone united in his life great scholarship, for his time unusual transcontinental vision, and an extraordinary zeal for world missions. As geographical scientist he explored the continent of Africa, and at the same time poured his life into mission. To preach the gospel to until then unreached peoples he crossed jungle and desert travelling more than fifty thousand kilometres.

Two biblical commandments ruled his entire life: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. Love your neighbor as yourself.
