A rapid rate of change in both the public and private sectors has created a great need for managers and specialists with good knowledge of leadership and organizational development.

Today, being a manager largely involves the ability to practice leadership that creates and facilitates change. This program provides you with the tools you need to understand the challenges of leadership and prepares you to act as a development-oriented leader.

There will be a high demand for people with good leadership and organizational development skills in all types of organizations.

The program has a unique focus on Scandinavian leadership. This means a short distance between leaders and employees, as well as involving employees in the decision-making process and giving them the scope to use their initiative.

You will study how to lead and manage modern operations, with a focus on how leaders can deal with improvement and development issues.

You will get a broad foundation within the fields of leadership and organizational development, alongside cutting-edge research. You will have excellent opportunities to specialize in your specific interests within the framework of existing courses.

The program offers a combination of current research and practical elements, in which we link research to practice and vice versa.

You will complete the program with a degree project worth 15 credits.

The University of Skövde offers a wide range of postgraduate studies and International Master's programs taught in English as well as three Bachelor's programs.

Research for Change

The researchers at the University of Skövde want to contribute to making changes. That is why our research efforts are carried out in tight collaboration with our community. Furthermore, the research has a clear connection to the education at the university.

Our aim is that the university's research should make a difference locally, nationally as well as internationally. The share of the research that receives external funds is 66% (2019), and our principal contributors are KK-stiftelsen (The Knowledge Foundation), the EU, the Region Västra Götaland, and private companies.

The University of Skövde has five research fields. Three of these are Systems Biology, Informatics, and Virtual Engineering. These three form the foundation for INFINIT. The university's joint theme of Digitalization for Sustainable Development should always be integrated into all research projects and environments to the greatest extent possible.
