The Department of Entomology is part of the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources and is involved in research, teaching, and extension arenas. Department faculty are internationally recognized and work in both applied and basic entomology. The department has research sites across Nebraska and collaborative relationships with both domestic and international scientists and educators.

The University of Nebraska Lincoln is a nationally recognized, research 1, land-grant institution. Founded in 1869 has been accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools since the association first started accrediting colleges and universities in 1913. Also, various colleges, schools, departments, and programs within the University of Nebraska Lincoln are accredited by their respective professional accrediting agencies.

Our distance courses are the same courses that we offer to students who come to campus to study. They are taught by the same nationally recognized, award-winning faculty that teach in-person, on-campus. Distance programs must go through the same academic review processes that in-person programs undergo. Because distance programs are as academically rigorous as the equivalent in-person programs, your diploma does not state that your degree was earned online. It looks no different from the one earned by students who come to campus for all their classes.
