BBA in Management and Leadership
Management requires building a work environment where people can thrive, and leadership in organizations builds upon this relational perspective to foster collaborative efforts to achieve organizational goals. Students will learn and develop competence in the human aspects of organizations and the specific skills required to work effectively with other people, particularly within the management-employee relationship. The overarching framework of this program is ‘ responsible management’ ; students will learn how to apply concepts of ethics, sustainability/triple-bottom-line business objectives, and stakeholder management to both the construction of management in general, and to their emerging identity as responsible managers.
Core courses in the program include organizational behaviour, business ethics, human resources management, organizational theory, leadership, and business strategy, with a comprehensive range of electives including sustainability, gender in management, employee relations, project management, sales force management, and many more. Students have flexibility in tailoring their program to fit their specific interests. Experiential learning happens throughout the program.
Popular post-graduate pathways include the CPHR (Chartered Professional in Human Resources) designation, Law, or any number of Masters programs including research-based Masters’ degrees. Graduates follow wide ranging career trajectories in human resources management, management consulting, project management, industrial relations, business analysis, general management and beyond, in public, profit and not-for-profit organizations.
The BBA program is nationally accredited by the Canadian Institute of Management.
