Описание программы

The Bachelor of Construction Management (BCM) degree program is unique in Saskatchewan offering students the opportunity to earn an after-diploma baccalaureate degree with an additional two years of study. The program was developed in response to industry needs and global trends for trained professionals in the construction industry. The BCM program combines practical multi-faceted skills with theoretical knowledge and technical training, truly a practitioner's degree.

Sask Polytech is proud of its reputation of providing the industry with 'career-ready' graduates, and this degree is no exception while providing a unique, direct, and relevant path for students to earn a degree in this increasingly important area. The curriculum encompasses a comprehensive spectrum of construction management topics including:

  • scheduling
  • estimating
  • safety
  • contract law
  • cost control
  • tendering
  • project management

During Year 4 of the BCM, students will participate in an industry-supported capstone project.

SHEQAB-sealThis program is offered with the written authorization of the Minister of Advanced Education, effective July 1, 2017. This authorization was provided after the program proposal underwent a quality assurance review and was found to meet the standards established by the Minister. Prospective students are responsible for satisfying themselves that the program and degree will be appropriate to their needs.

The Work Integrated Learning Advantage

The work-integrated learning (WIL) work term may be paid, so you'll earn while you learn. Saskatchewan Polytechnic arranges your interviews; it's up to you to shine. It's also a chance to develop important skills in job interviewing, professional attitude, interpersonal communication and more.

Many of our WIL employers require both a valid Saskatchewan Driver's License and a clean driver's abstract. For international students, it can take up to 12 months to obtain a driver's license; therefore, it is to your advantage to come with a driver's license from your home country if possible.

Advantages

Impressive achievements which we proudly bring to our students:

  • Grads are in demand: 94% of employers would hire a Saskatchewan Polytechnic grad again. Learn by doing: Approximately two-thirds of our programs offer a work-integrated, learning component to gain real-world experience.
  • Strong industry connection: 92% employment rate within six months to one year of graduation.
  • Small classes with 25-30 people. If you like the small class feel, this is great for you.
  • Strength in applied research: Students are encouraged and supported by faculty to partner with businesses, industry, and the community on applied research projects that provide real-world solutions to today’s challenges.
  • We offer optional Coop programs in conjunction with students’ studies, which allows students to work in their field, alongside industry leaders in Saskatchewan.
  • Diploma to Degree transfer for most of the diploma programs.
  • The First Qualified/First Admitted (FQFA) is the admission method for the majority of programs and helps to secure seats up to 10 months ahead of school start dates.
  • Saskatchewan offers free health care for international students.
  • GRP provides a tax credit for graduates who stays and works in Saskatchewan after graduation. Can receive up to $6400 of your tuition back after studying with us.
  • SINP is arguably one of the best provincial nominee programs for students in the country. SINP provided a very direct path to permanent residency for students looking to immigrate to Canada following graduation. The Saskatchewan government is actively attracting young people to the province. We have the lowest percentage of 18 to 64-year-old people in the country – this is the labor force.
