Electronic Information at BIT (including electronic information engineering, electronic science and technology, communications engineering and information counter technology) is a national key program.

The program, with information and communication engineering, electronic science and technology, computer science and technology as key subjects, fosters special talents with professional knowledge in electronic information engineering, electromagnetic field and microwave technology, signal and information processing, circuits and systems, who can work in research, design, manufacture, and operation in the field of information technology, or in the information technology research and equipment development in the departments of national economy and national defense industry.

Graduates will engage in scientific research, technology development and teaching in the field of electronics and information engineering or high-level management in related areas.

The core courses include Fundamentals of Circuits, Fundamentals of Analog Circuits, Digital Electronics, Signals and Systems, Fundamentals of Control Theory, Digital Signal Processing, Random Signal Analysis, Theory of Electromagnetic Fields, Fundamentals of Microwave Technology, Data Structure and Algorithm Designing, Computer Principle and Application, Principle of Digital Communication, and Communication Circuits and Systems.

Qualifications

• Master's program applicants should be university graduates or will graduate by July 31. A doctoral program applicant should have a Master's Degree in the same major or in the relative field of interest;
• Efficient Chinese language skills* (4 grade of HSK) or TOEFL and IELTS scores.
• Recommending by two professors.

*Note: Chinese (Mandarin) is the principal teaching language. BIT also offers some programs in English. Applicants for English taught programs are not required to have Chinese language skills.

In 1940, Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), the first science and engineering university was founded in Yan’an by the Communist Party of China. It has been one of the key universities in China since the founding of New China and the first batch of universities which has entered the national “211 Project”, “985 Project” and the “Top A World-class University”. The name of BIT was inscribed by Chairman Mao, and Li Fuchun, Xu Teli, Li Qiang and other older generations of proletarian revolutionists successively took the lead of the university. The university is now affiliated to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. All the faculty members and students are striving for the goal of “two hundred years” of the national standard, and are fully committed to the goal of building a world-class university with Chinese characteristics.
