Specializations to help you meet your professional goals.

The MBA offers 11 areas of specialization to enhance your career and help you meet your personal goals. You may specialize in one of the areas below by taking 9 credits of electives in that area of study.

You can also customize your specialization by taking 9 credits of electives in any approved 700-level MBA course.

You can also complete the entire Flexible Core by completing all eight courses. This will satisfy the 9-credit Flexible Core requirement in addition to the 9-credit specialization requirement.

Inspired by real-world business challenges.

As long as the MBA has been offered at the University of Baltimore, we've kept the needs of business in mind. Our program was built with the advice and expertise of the Baltimore business community, our esteemed alumni, and current and prospective students and faculty.

In higher education, sometimes course curriculum is created behind closed doors—theory does not always go hand in hand with practice. Our approach is different. We consult with business leaders from some of the area's top companies. We survey students and alumni. We hold focus groups. We conduct secondary research. It is essential that the UB MBA meet the needs of the students we serve and the business community that hires them.

We recognize that there is a strong demand for the MBA. Any 21st-century graduate business degree, however, must be applicable to a fast-paced, globally scaled business environment. It must reach a student population that is connected via technology like no other generation in history. We encourage our students to blaze a trail in business and the community at large—and that requires an MBA that is as flexible as it is applicable.

About Baltimore , Baltimore isn't nicknamed Charm City for nothing. And while there are endless reasons that it's a great place to go to school, here are what we think are the five most important ones. 1. We're close to everything. We're close to major highways and to every kind of public transportation, so getting around town is simple. Or you can just walk across the street to Penn Station and hop a train for a quick trip to Washington, D.C.; Philadelphia; New York; or other major East Coast destinations. 2. So much to do. How do you choose? Tourists routinely head for the Inner Harbor, the National Aquarium, downtown's upscale stores and eateries, but what about you? Nearly every Baltimore neighborhood has its own unique and quirky attractions. Spend an afternoon wandering around the 18th-century cobblestone streets of Fell's Point. Sample a crab cake at one of the city's historic open-air markets. Catch a popular local band or a new play in the Station North Arts and Entertainment District. Let us brag: Baltimore was named by Fodor's as one of the 15 Best Waterfront Cities in the World. 3. Baltimore is a city apart. Baltimore has more than its share of visual and performing arts. Within a close walking distance of UB, you'll find The Walters Art Museum, the Patricia and Arthur Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric, the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall and the Eubie Blake National Jazz Institute and Cultural Center. UB's campus is also is home to Artscape, the nation's largest free arts festival. 4. This is Birdland. From UB's nearby Light Rail stop, it's a 10-minute ride south to Baltimore's two professional sports stadiums. Catch a Baltimore Orioles baseball game in the spring or enjoy fall football with the Baltimore Ravens. 5. Baltimore is a college town. UB is just one of many public and private colleges and universities in and around metropolitan Baltimore. That "college town feel" is one of the major benefits of living in the city. Get familiar with the Baltimore Collegetown Network and learn more about the ways these campuses contribute to the charm of Charm City.
