This major passed the education evaluation and re-evaluation of national engineering management in 2007, 2012, and 2017 respectively, and ranked first in the comprehensive evaluation of undergraduate education among colleges and universities in Liaoning province in 2014. It was selected as an undergraduate program with special advantages in Liaoning province. Some teachers are serving as members of the Engineering Management and Construction Costs Instruction Committee of National Higher Education Civil Engineering Disciplines. A ‘Sandwich’ practice teaching mode has been adopted in this major for the purpose of training students to work in national construction and real estate industries with the abilities to manage the whole process of a construction project and to be qualified for a key link as well as developing senior application-orientated talents with strong abilities in learning, practice, innovation and social adaptation for large and medium-sized civil engineering construction enterprises and real estate development enterprise.

After graduation, the students can be employed in large and medium-sized construction enterprises, real estate development enterprises, engineering projects consulting enterprises, and relevant government departments; they can also be engaged in related teaching and scientific research in scientific research institutions, colleges, and universities.

Shenyang Jianzhu University (the original Shenyang Architecture and Civil Engineering Institute), established in 1948, is the only comprehensive university with its priority given to Civil Engineering and Architecture as well as multi-disciplinary education overlapping among engineering science, industry, literature, administration, nature science, agronomy and law in Liaoning Province.

The university has 15 subordinate schools and 1560 faculty members are working at SJZU currently, including more than 102 professors and 210 associate professors, and 14 subject experts. Current enrollment consists of nearly 18,000-degree candidates, including 11,634 undergraduates, 1600 graduates as well as doctorate students and students enrolled in adult and professional schools. Since 1956, SJZU has been enrolling foreign students. And every year there are over 200 foreign students, mainly from Korea，Russia，America, Germany，Britain, Finland, Austria, Cameroon, Vietnam，Philippines, and Japan, studying in SJZU. The employment status of 2002-2009 graduates takes front rank in the top 47 universities of Liaoning province.
