Saint Joseph’s biology program gives students a comprehensive understanding of the realm of living beings and a strong foundation for graduate study, professional service, and career advancement.

Scientists’ most important tools are their ability to integrate new knowledge—whether gained through research or study—with pre-existing knowledge, observation, and self-discipline. Combined, these tools help scientists to understand the truth better. The biology curriculum instils in students deeper respect for all life forms, an understanding of the connection between all life forms, the similarities between all life at the biochemical level, and the relationships between organisms in the evolution of life on Earth.

Rooted in and professing fidelity to the teachings of Jesus Christ and the doctrines and heritage of the Roman Catholic Church, Saint Joseph’s College, sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, is a liberal arts college that nurtures intellectual, spiritual, and social growth in students of all ages and all faiths within a value-centred environment.
