Biochemistry examines the biomolecular processes and chemical reactions occurring in living organisms and systems. This knowledge is fundamental to tackling many of the environmental and health-related challenges facing society.
At Illinois Tech the biochemistry major blends theoretical and laboratory courses in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, microbiology, mathematics, statistics, and more, producing a solid foundation for careers in clinics, research, or biotechnology.
The biochemistry major at Illinois Tech is a scientifically rigorous and challenging program providing students with analytical, scientific, and practical skills through a balanced, yet flexible, offering in STEM courses. Combined with undergraduate research opportunities, this curriculum provides the knowledge, skills, and experiences to open career pathways.
Courses include biochemistry, cell biology, chemistry, human biology, genetics, microbiology, and more.
