Why study Statistics?

Statistics involves collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data, and calls for strong mathematical skills and an interest in problem-solving. Statistics and statistical modelling are essential and in-demand skills that are used in many types of research and industries, from science and medicine to economics and finance.

A statistics major or minor in the BSc General degree is designed to provide a broad view of the discipline and allows for customization and flexibility with courses and program direction.

Statistics can also be taken as part of a BSc Specialization or BSc Honors degree.

Why take the BSc General degree?

The Bachelor of Science General degree offers a wide variety of majors and minors, allowing you to create a diversified degree based on your interests. Majors must be in Science, but minors can also be from courses offered by Arts; Business; or Agriculture, Life and Environmental Sciences. You can also take a double major in Science.
