Bachelor of Engineering in Integrated Engineering

This course allows students to study a variety of electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines both practically and theoretically; students have the opportunity, through the final-year project module to produce an engineering design or product; this course improves both practical and academic skills to prepare students for a wide range of opportunities either in employment in RandD or on to a Masters degree course; on successful completion of this degree, students are able to work within the engineering industry as a technician, design engineer, quality control engineer or test engineer.

Modules

Year 1: Applied software; basic mathematics; engineering principles; introduction to materials; learning and skill development for higher education; mathematics for technology 1; mechatronics. Year 2: Applied mechanics; computer-aided design; design and technology project; mathematics for technology 2; microprocessor system design; programmable logic controllers; statistics and process quality assurance. Year 3: Advanced mathematics; control systems; energy, technology and sustainability; final year undergraduate project; project management for technologists; signals and systems; stress and dynamics.
