The challenges facing the health care community in the 21st century are numerous, and practitioners will need excellent pharmaceutical, professional and ethical training. Union University's commitment to integrating rigorous academics with a Christian worldview is exemplified in the credentials of the College of Pharmacy faculty.
Academic Program
We challenge our students with courses in non-prescription drugs and human gross anatomy during the first semester. They experience human patient simulator technology within the first-year curriculum. Class size is kept small in order to enhance personal interaction with professors, some of the finest Christian scholars in the field.
State-of-the-Art Facilities
Providence Hall is a hands-on educational environment where students can actively engage in research, community and hospital pharmacy and an extensive patient simulation environment.
PEAP Program
The Pharmacy Early Admission Program (PEAP) recruits highly qualified Union undergraduate students, as early as their freshman year, to help streamline their admission to Union's Doctor of Pharmacy program. PEAP guarantees admission to the School of Pharmacy, pending successful adherence to progression criteria. PEAP offers opportunities for social connections with other PEAP students, pharmacy faculty and students. In some cases, research opportunities may be available to qualified students.
Residencies
Union offers a Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Residency Experience that is in pre-candidate status by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). The PGY1 Experience offers the resident clinical practice experience in community, ambulatory care, and hospital settings.
Accreditation
Union University's Doctor of Pharmacy program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, 135 South LaSalle Street, Suite 4100, Chicago, IL 60503, 312/664-3575
Mission Statement
