Our faculty conduct research in astronomy and astrophysics, molecular spectroscopy, biomedical diagnostics and imaging, and experimental and computational biophysics. Our experimental biophysicists lead national and international projects on cancer research, biomedical imaging, and nanomedicine involving groups from the US, Canada, Europe, Japan, and South America.

With a degree in physics, you may choose to pursue graduate study, a career in academia or national laboratory, or work in the leading industries in biotechnology, scientific instrumentation, aerospace, and defense.

College of Science & Engineering (CSE) faculty open our students' minds and engage in active scholarship, whether the subject is as large as the universe, as small as a sub-atomic particle, or as abstract as a mathematical theorem. Our goal is to propagate both knowledge and excitement to our students, whether in the classroom, our offices, research laboratories, or the field.
