Headquarters: Madrid
Hours: Saturday and Sunday
Duration: 12 months
Qualification: Master in Myofunctional Therapy issued by ISEP
About
The Master in myofunctional therapy provides students with the necessary knowledge to analyze the different normal and pathological orofacial behaviors of the structures that intervene in basic functions (breathing, swallowing, chewing, speaking) and design an individualized intervention plan for each pathology.
Its purpose is to achieve a balance between bone and muscular structures at the orofacial level in order to create new neuromotor patterns of appropriate behavior, as well as reduce parafunctions, eliminate harmful habits and improve the patient's aesthetics.
Its application can be both active, with the patient's own voluntary participation, and passive, with the application of different techniques and maneuvers by the therapist.
There are many applications in both children and adults: atypical swallowing, mouth breathing, neurological or neuromuscular pathologies, dysphagia, before and/or after reconstructive plastic surgery, TBI, etc.
