The Level 2 – Teaching Assistant Course has been created for people who are looking to get a better understanding of the main principles and practices of teaching assistant positions. The Teaching Assistant Course can be studied at home or at work and has been designed to give students a full comprehensive knowledge and many skills that are needed for a classroom support position. This course also covers an extensive range of classroom support activities. The Teaching Assistant Course Covers these Four Compulsory Units:

• Teacher Support
• Pupil Support
• Curriculum Support
• School Support

The Teaching Assistant Course Also Covers Five Optional Units (3 Needed):

• ICT in the Classroom Support
• Special Education Needs Pupil Support
• Literacy Development Support
• Numeracy Department Support
• Working with Others

There are no pre-requirements for this course.

Course Duration & Support

A student can register at their own convenience. Completion is required within one year and students have email and mail correspondence with a personal tutor.

Assessment

You will be assessed on coursework which is detailed in the course materials. Most coursework consists of short paragraph answers to set questions. Your work can be sent back to your course tutor by email or by post.

Certification

The Certification is gained from your coursework so there is no exam to complete. On successful completion of this course, students will be awarded a Level 2 - Teaching Assistant Certificate of achievement by ABC Awards.
