The economics major cultivates high-quality applied talents with strong political quality, deep labor sentiment, solid economic theory foundation, meeting the needs of market economy development, and outstanding professional practical ability in the financial field. Through four years of study, after graduation, students can engage in strategic planning, capital operation, risk assessment, operation management, marketing, etc. in various companies, and engage in policy formulation, economic management, and industrial planning in party and government agencies and institutions. Engaged in organization management, market research, evaluation and consulting in non-profit social organizations, and possesses the basic qualities to continue studying in domestic and foreign universities.

Closely focusing on the training goals, the economics major has established the guiding ideology of "maintaining the integrity of the economics discipline system, complying with the general principles of economics undergraduate education, and highlighting the financial direction and inclusive characteristics", focusing on improving students' ability to solve practical economic problems Emphasize the use of financial tools that serve the labor market. CULR originated from the Cadre School for ACFTU established in 1949 and was upgraded to a regular college for undergraduate education with the approvall of the Ministry of Education. With nearly 7 decades’ history, it is a multi-disciplinary university with distinctive features covering economics, management, law study, literature, engineering and art.
