The International Public Policy and Management Program (IPPAM) offers a Master of International Public Policy and Management (MIPM) degree designed for international students and U.S. students working in international settings. This executive program targets mid-career professionals with experience in government, nonprofit organizations or businesses engaged in the design, planning and management of social programs and services.
The program enrolls a largely international cohort, drawing students from 10-13 countries in any given year. Students are immersed in a global environment by virtue of working cross-culturally and cross-sectorally with colleagues from multiple countries. IPPAM courses identify pressing public policy issues in the social sectors and cultivate analytical and managerial expertise to design creative policy solutions and lead programs.
IPPAM is a two-year, full-time program. Students wishing to complete the degree sooner may pursue a more accelerated program of study.
IPPAM is an interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral program with a comparative perspective on policy and social issues, focusing particularly on the countries from which students are drawn. IPPAM students represent a diversity of professions and have interests that span the range of public policy issues. The program structure is a hybrid cohort model in which students take their core courses together and then customize their educational and professional objectives by selecting among specialization areas offered by the Price School and in some cases in other schools at USC.
The USC Sol Price School of Public Policy consistently ranks among the nation’s top 10 graduate schools according to U.S. News and World Report, and engages in solving some of the most critical issues facing our world today. Through an interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral approach to public problem solving, Price School faculty, students and alumni work to improve the quality of life for people and their communities, both in the United States and abroad.
USC Price students are on a mission to accomplish bold visions. As deeply engaged global citizens, they ask difficult questions, challenge longstanding answers and seize each obstacle as a new opportunity. Most of all, they are leaders in their fields who are leveraging Price degrees to make a difference.
Price faculty are renowned for their expertise, depth of contributions to their fields, engagement with policy leaders at the local, state, national and international levels, and the actionable knowledge resulting from their work. We are proud to have faculty with expansive and diverse academic backgrounds – including economics, international relations, organizational behavior, philosophy, political science, psychology, sociology, social ethics and more – that enhance their scholarship within the Price School’s core academic areas.
