These relationships have engaged school districts, charter schools, hospitals, mental health agencies, educational organizations, social service organizations, and related civic, cultural, and business organizations. Since its inception, the School of Education has been a shining example for advancing the University of Missouri Kansas City (UMKC), the only public urban-serving research university located in the heart of Kansas City. Earning the Community Engagement Classification by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching in 2015, UMKC carries out this commitment every day in the School of Education.
