The Bachelor of Arts in Music History and Literature is for the music major who welcomes academic rigor and demonstrates scholarly excellence. Additional avenues of opportunities for students pursuing the Music History and Literature emphasis include graduate studies in music theory or musicology, preparing for teaching at the university level, and professional opportunities in music editing and music scholarship.

Music History and Literature majors have added studies in advanced music history, theory, and counterpoint. Submission of student research paper is required.
