Established in 1987, the htk academy educates world-class designers and developers, both in Germany and online. Our lecturers are experts in design, coding and art: together we can help you achieve a solid foundation in game creation and learn the key skills you need to work in the thrilling gaming industry.

The Game Creation online program at the htk academy is a fully interactive learning experience! International students are welcome to join our real-time, live-streaming classes and online design workshops, taught 100% in English - made in Germany. In our online classes, our game creation experts will help you develop your creativity by teaching you a winning combination of design and coding skills. You will be able to kick-start your education and career at the htk academy. No video tutorials or PDFs – instead you take part in a complete semester of live-streaming lessons with other students. This means you will have regular interactive lessons each week, giving you maximum results.

• 2D and 3D animations
• Character Design
• Game logic and source coding
• Game Engines (Unreal & Unity)
• Environment Art

After your htk course

Upon completion of your htk academy certificate, you will have the chance to apply for a Job Seeking visa and, as long as you have a B1 level of German, you will be able to work in Germany. With your complete creative portfolio, you will be able to showcase your talents to the main employers in the gaming industry.

However, if you would like to continue studying and gain a bachelor’s degree, you can do that by studying for an additional year at one of our partner institutions. Your choice!

Vocational courses at htk academy

The htk Academy is a vocational school that offers practical design courses; all students are taught by experts from the creative industry. There are no exams at htk and you will learn through practical projects every semester.

Qualification

At the end of your htk program, you will:

• gain a German education certificate which will make you eligible to apply for a job-seeking visa. This visa and your own creative portfolio will allow you to get the job you want!
• qualify for a Bachelor's Top-up degree in Germany, at one of htk academy’s academic partners. This additional year of study will be a similar price to the htk annual fee and will also give you access to an amazing 18-month post-study visa.
