It thus represents a classic cross-sectional discipline. In terms of content, the business informatics bachelor's degree essentially deals with information and communication systems that are used to support business processes and for decision-making in companies and in public administration.

While computer science is essentially geared towards the development and programming of these systems, business informatics, for example, examines how these systems should be designed in order to be able to meet the requirements of various users in everyday business.

Business informatics as a key and cross-sectional discipline

Further contents of business informatics range from questions of economic system design, the management of implementation projects to the financing and marketing of hardware and software solutions. For these far-reaching, interdisciplinary tasks, both in-depth knowledge from the field of computer science and from the field of business are required.
