Welcome to the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering in the Daniel Felix Ritchie School of Engineering & Computer Science at the University of Denver (R.S.E.C.S.).

As a department of the University of Denver, we are well integrated into a community and region that offers many different professionals and personal opportunities for our students. Through our own initiatives and joint programs with other units of the University, we offer unique options to enhance the education we provide with a solid background in business and the entrepreneurial nature of engineering projects and companies.

The educational and research philosophy of the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department recognizes the demands of the global economy, the new dynamics of the world market, cultural differences and diversity, and the need for knowledge integration. Our goals embrace the challenges of the globalization era we live in. To prepare our students for an engineering career in the ever-changing world we live in.

Not only do we work to improve our immediate community, but we send our students and faculty abroad for study and research with wide-ranging impact. Just as important, we welcome students and faculty from all over the world to bring new ideas and insights to our campus. Through local and international service learning programs, our students have worked alongside communities everywhere from downtown Denver to Africa, Europe, Asia and beyond. Research led by our faculty and students has made a tangible difference in a huge range of fields, generating new medical technologies, environmental safeguards, archaeological discoveries and much more. But the most significant impact the University has is through its alumni. When they leave here, the students go on to make meaningful and lasting contributions to their professions and their communities.
