The Department of Chemical Engineering offers a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical Engineering, with an emphasis on preparing students for future careers in research. Course and research requirements stress a broadly-based education in the fundamentals of chemical engineering, as well as materials science and bioengineering.

The Gevirtz Graduate School of Education (GGSE) offers M.A.s and Ph.D.s from the Department of Counselling, Clinical and School Psychology and the Department of Education and M.Ed.s from the Teacher Education Program, which also prepares students for teaching credentials. The School also offers three undergraduate minors in Education, Applied Psychology, and Science & Mathematics Education.

The GGSE is part of University of California Santa Barbara, a member of the Association of American Universities, and located on the Pacific coast 90 miles north of Los Angeles.
