The Major in Communication Studies is recommended for students who plan careers or graduate school in communication, journalism, media studies or related areas.

The Department of Communication Studies offers a Bachelor of Arts degree with a curriculum that prepares students for a wide variety of career opportunities as well as graduate school.

Our majors have gone on to careers in higher education, sports marketing, journalism, the travel industry, public relations, and social media, just to name a few. Others have completed advanced degrees at institutions such as Johns Hopkins University, West Virginia University, the University of Georgia, Virginia Tech, ETSU, and the University of Virginia.
