Social welfare and mental health welfare professionals are called social workers. The social work major is designed to provide national qualifications and teach the knowledge and skills necessary for becoming a social worker, all while seeking “what happiness is”. A great variety of subjects unique to welfare are available in this program, and students can freely select subjects based on their plans or themes that they want to pursue. In addition, the welfare focus offers an important strategic perspective for companies in an aging society that is producing fewer children.

The university is managed under the auspices of the Congregation of Religious Missionaries of St. Dominic. It is named after St. Catherine of Siena who represents the values of devotion and dedication to instill in the students.
