In the first year, focus will be on the meridians and acupuncture points as well as on the needling techniques, while during the second year practical treatments of various diseases are put into attention. Students are required to write a thesis to finish their final year.

In addition to the teacher contact hours you will work together with fellow students in a Literature study group and practice together in the Interactive Practice groups. During these two years of acupuncture class, the amount of apprenticeship hours will gradually increase to help you practice independently in your future TCM career.

Shenzhou Open University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SOU), formerly European Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Advanced Training Center, was established in 1990 and is one of the largest European Traditional Chinese Medicine educational institutes.

Teaching based on the Chinese model on training university students, Shenzhou Open University tailors the core curriculum to the European situation. Shenzhou Open University takes “innovation based on the inheritance of the traditions” as her school motto.

Shenzhou Open University curriculum ranges from Chinese medicine, acupuncture & moxibustion, Tuina and Medical Qigong to the Foundations of Western Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine language course.
