The University Master's Degree in Cooperativism and Socio-Business Management develops skills for the comprehensive management of cooperatives and social economy organizations within one of the leading cooperative ecosystems in the world: the Mondragon Cooperative Experience.
This international master, with 60 ETCS credits, is 100% online with the possibility of a stay at Mondragon. The methodology, based on cases and challenges, promotes the practical application of competencies and experiential learning, equity and democracy.
The master offers two itineraries: the professional itinerary and the research itinerary. Choosing the research itinerary (methodology modules: 20 ECTS), once the master's degree is finished, you will be able to carry out the doctoral thesis. Regardless of the itinerary chosen, the master has 60 ECTS.
This university master's degree is directed by the LANKI Institute for Cooperative Studies , a benchmark in cooperative research.
The organization of the teaching-learning process is based on the principles of the educational model of Mondragon Unibertsitatea , Mendeberri 2025, which are:
Within this framework, learning methodologies based on problems, cases, challenges, and projects are proposed that make it possible to enter real professional situations. They also promote student reflection on the development of their skills and the monitoring of their professional and personal development by the teaching team.
The learning modality of this master is online, with the possibility of a 15-20 day stay in the Basque Country to learn first-hand about the Mondragon Cooperative Experience. The online mode allows the student greater flexibility in the learning process and to be able to decide when and at what pace to work within the marked program.
The Master's Thesis (TFM) constitutes the backbone of the master's degree. The preparation of the TFM is carried out throughout the Master, not only at the end of it. Often, the starting point of the TFM is a real (practical) situation that is subject to improvement, to whose development the master's subjects contribute directly. Likewise, the Master's Thesis may consist of a research project that gives access to the doctorate.
