The master’s in music therapy from Loyola’s renowned School of Music prepares students to excel in the field with advanced clinical, supervisory, and methodological knowledge.

Loyola’s music therapy program is considered one of the most respected in the country, and the hybrid music therapy program is endorsed by the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA). Both the hybrid and on-campus programs are taught by faculty members who are leaders in the field of music therapy and engaged in clinical practice, research, writing, and advocacy.

Please note: The master of music therapy – bachelor's equivalency program is a hybrid program that requires on-campus coursework in the first year of studies.

Auto [Expedited] Admit Program for LOYNO Students

Are you a Loyola New Orleans graduating senior or a current alum? You could be eligible for the auto-admit program. The School of Music will auto-admit eligible Loyola New Orleans students who meet the following criteria:

• seniors who received a B.M. or B.M.T. can be admitted into the equivalency M.M.T. program or M.M. degree with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• seniors who wish to enter the online M.M.T. should have completed their on-campus B.M.T. coursework and be participating in the 6-month internship. Final acceptance to the M.M.T. program is contingent upon the successful completion of the internship and passing the BC-MT credentialing exam.
