B.S. Nursing

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree at Lake Sumter State College is designed for individuals who hold a pre-licensure nursing degree (AS/AA) or diploma from a regionally accredited institution and are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) or hold an active RN license.

The RN to BSN program focuses on generalist nursing practice in increasingly global, diverse, and continually changing health care systems. The final Capstone course integrates knowledge gained throughout the program in leadership, management, research, ethics, health policy, and population health. Graduates are well-positioned to enter a wider range of nursing careers, enjoy clinical advancement, and to continue on to graduate education.
