The best stories are told by people who are passionate about what they do. No matter what story you want to tell, the communication arts program at JCSU will teach you how to do it well so that others will want to listen.

You’ll begin with an introduction to mass communication and how organizations in the print, broadcast, and online industries speak to their target audiences. Guest speakers and field trips to communications organizations will give you a behind-the-scenes look at how different forms of communication are presented to the public.

The ability to speak with various audiences is the key to a successful career. In our program, you’ll learn how to effectively communicate with the various groups you’ll encounter on the job. Equally as important is the ability to understand audio/video production and design. You’ll receive hands-on practice with both in classes that teach you how to use the right equipment to tell a good story. Whether you prefer to express your creativity through your writing or with video and sound, your education in the communication arts program will give you the maximum exposure to the communication industry with the knowledge and skills to move across careers in various industries.
