The Master’s degree in Materials science for Nuclear Energy (MaNuEn) is an international Master’s program designed for students wishing to pursue a career in nuclear R&D, whether in industrial companies or research organizations. Entirely taught in English, the two-year program covers the properties of materials in a nuclear environment (fuel and components) and their sustainability under irradiation. The first year covers the fundamentals of materials science and reactor physics and includes a 2-to-3-month internship. The second-year is divided into two semesters:
In the first semester, all classes are taught with two specialized courses: one at CEA/Cadarache (3 weeks) and one at EDF’s Materials Ageing Institute (2 weeks). About 50% of classes are taught by engineers and researchers from EDF and CEA.
The second semester consists of an internship of at least five months carried out either in industry or in a laboratory.
The MaNuEn Master’s degree is jointly issued with INSTN and accredited by I2EN.
MaNuEn graduates can:
identify the specific features of nuclear materials,
study and describe the behaviour of irradiated materials,
understand the physicochemical phenomena used in the manufacturing of crystalline and thin-film ceramic materials,
appreciate the primary ageing process responsible for producing defects in materials,
design and conduct experimental procedures to evaluate kinetic and mechanical resistance to corrosion.
Upon graduation, MaNuEn students can apply for the following:
Engineer in the nuclear industry
R&D engineer
Research scientist or assistant professor
Doctoral degree program (PhD.)
IFPASS, Training Institute for the Insurance Profession, is a major player in insurance training, with more than 6,000 learners welcomed each year. For more than 70 years, the Institute has contributed to training existing employees or new entrants through continuing professional training or initial training throughout the country.
It is also the managing body of one of the largest CFA (apprenticeship training center) in Ile de France: the CFA de l'Assurance.
IFPASS offers diploma courses from Bac + 2 to Bac + 5 levels, certificates, and a diverse range of qualifying training courses in line with insurance companies and their employees' needs.
Thus, the Institute was led to create an HR service provision unit focused on support activities for VAE (Validation of Acquired Experience), skills assessments, and recruitment.
With a teaching staff, 90% of insurance professionals, face-to-face and remote learning methods, the success rate is 84% for all combined training levels. Thanks to its training offer, IFPASS supports and secures employees' career paths while meeting the needs of forecast management of jobs and companies' skills.
