Chemists work in all facets of life including the development of new drugs for the treatment of diseases such as cancer, AIDS, and heart diseases; the creation of better methods for the production of food, clothing and shelter; and the discovery of environment-friendly energy sources. They also work on solving problems such as acid rain, ozone depletion and climate change.

We're a public institution located in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, dedicated to integrating high-quality professional programs with strong liberal arts and sciences studies.

Founded in 1894, we now have more than 30 undergraduate programs and 22 master's degree programs, and 7,000 full and part-time students.
