Practices
An average of 6 months per year, in 3 to 5 star hotels selected by Vatel. The practices are structured as follows:
- 1st year of study - Living room and kitchen in a hotel in Spain.
- 2nd year of study - Accommodation and Reception preferably in a hotel outside Spain
- 3rd year of study - Administrative Department at a hotel anywhere in the world.
At Vatel Málaga, we consider it key that the curriculum includes aspects beyond academic life, so each program is reinforced with extracurricular activities, which will expand professional knowledge and improve the managerial skills, strategic capacity and entrepreneurial spirit of our students.
Both in the school's own facilities, as well as in the professional visits we make, students learn the keys to wine production and tasting, in addition to the different perceptions that exist among the multiple grape varieties.
In this gastronomic journey, a fundamental pillar is the gourmet product. In Vatel Málaga we bring the secrets of Mediterranean cuisine to our students, so that they are able to respond to the needs of each and every one of their future clients in a hotel establishment. That is why in our school we make tastings of Iberian ham, olive oil, bread or cheese, products that by their preparation and marketing can reach high levels of sophistication, reaching the gourmet category.
In addition, guided tours are organized to wineries and breweries, markets, specialized conferences of the sector, travel agencies or communication, among others, during the professional week that the school itself organizes.
With reinforcement activities such as these, students acquire technical knowledge of the sector and thus open a wide range of professional possibilities for their future.
