Maintenance is an engineering activity that currently uses a multitude of resources such as sophisticated measuring instruments, powerful computer equipment, specific software, etc. This requires those responsible for its management to have multidisciplinary training in technical, economic, statistical, quality issues, etc., in order to achieve continuous improvement of execution plans and processes with a view to reaching optimal values of reliability, availability, maintainability and security (RAMS). The latest study by the Spanish Maintenance Association indicates that maintenance involves the entire national economy, so that it represents around 9.4% of GDP. This gives an idea of the importance of maintenance as a strategic sector, which employs a multitude of professionals, of all kinds of qualifications, but with a clear trend towards industrial engineering graduates. This Master responds to the current need for training in Maintenance Engineering, and fills in or complements the gaps in current university degrees.
