BBA in International Business

The International Business (IB) stream will prepare students with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in an international business environment . International business activities are providing significant opportunities for Canadian businesses of any size and industry. Various globalization processes (cultural, economic, political, etc.) are underlying international business activities and are driving the internationalization of the world economy.

In the IB stream, you will examine the theory and methods of engaging in business internationally . The program involves selected aspects of:

• Globalization
• Culture
• International Trade Theory
• Political Economy
• Foreign Direct Investment
• Regional Economic Integration
• The Global Monetary System
• Global Strategy
• International Operations

This stream will integrate business theory and practices drawing on the various sub-disciplines of business administration. The program will help students todevelop or enhance global perspectives, responsibilities and critical thinking, as well as language skills. It will also offer cross-cultural experiences provided by StFX and exchange partners abroad . The IB stream is designed to offer an integrated business program with an international focus emphasizing an experiential international education.

The deadline for scholarship applications is March 1, and to apply online, all you need is to have completed your academic application to StFX, and submitted your grade 12 first semester transcript.

Through this program, you have the opportunity to obtain 12 months of on-the-job experience before receiving your BBA — real-world experience giving you an advantage for what comes after graduation. BBA students are also encouraged to check out their international exchange opportunities -- learning that takes you literally around the world!
