The Behavioral Sciences Department will provide you with opportunities to explore the connections between mind, behavior, and society. Our programs combine the value of a broad-based liberal arts degree with the rigor of scientific research methods to create a deeper and more meaningful understanding of our society and the people that live in and drive it.

All Psychology majors have the opportunity to be involved in research. Students complete a senior Psychology Capstone research project under the direction of a faculty member, resulting in a research paper that can accompany their applications to graduate schools. While at Millikin, Human Services majors have a wide range of opportunities for research with faculty.

Millikin is an independent, four-year university that is privately funded and has an enrollment of approximately 2,200 students in traditional and non-traditional undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Located in Decatur, Illinois, you will quickly discover that the signature of a Millikin education is a unique experience we like to call Performance Learning. Since its founding more than 110 years ago, Millikin has operated under the philosophy of providing an education that combines theory with practice.
