The Master of Education program allows students to advance their degree and careers in education further. With an offering of four concentrations, prospective graduate students will find that they can easily advance their degree with ease and convenience to suit their goals. Concentrations are Coaching, Special Education, TESOL , and Literacy with Reading Endorsement.
LEC's Masters of Education (M.ED) with a coaching concentration is designed to help working teachers become high-quality sports coaches by offering them a specific understanding of the sports environment's unique elements. This program will help teachers interested in coaching and former athletes apply their skills as teachers to the practice of coaching.
The program approaches the training of coaches by providing education in three areas representing core competencies for coaches—community development, leadership and ethics (2 courses), sport-specific coaching skills (3 courses), and program administration and evaluation (2 courses).

The TESOL Endorsement is designed to provide teacher candidates with the necessary knowledge, skills, and dispositions to successfully meet the challenges of teaching students whose first language is other than English. It will aid candidates in meeting the challenges of today's multicultural classrooms and comply with all state regulations regarding this population of students.
A Master of Education degree in literacy prepares to teach professionals to have an in-depth knowledge of literacy theories, processes, strategies, curriculum, and research. M.Ed. Students will learn how to apply that knowledge to plan appropriate literacy programs and curricula for various contexts. The 2-year program is coupled with a Reading Endorsement and can be completed all online.
