If you envision yourself as a physician or as someone trying to make the world a better place by developing a cure or making a big discovery, you’ve come to the right place. If you are concerned about the environment and want to make a real difference then a Biology major is for you.
Student Opportunities and Experience
As a biology student, you will quickly feel part of our tight-knit "Claflin Family" from the classroom to the lab. You will gain the "Claflin Confidence" that has helped so many of our graduates present research findings at national conferences and get into and succeed in graduate schools, medical programs, and professional careers.
Summer and academic year internships are essential for rounding out your resume and getting real-world experience that allows you to make the most out of your future biology career. Internships have been shown to improve grades, heighten understanding of science concepts, and allow you to apply your skills to the real world. Claflin University's School of Natural Sciences offered over 110 academic year and 108 summer research internships for students in the last three years.
