Phlebotomy + ECG Program. Phlebotomists are in Demand.
Phlebotomists are Vital Members of Clinical Lab Teams
A career in Phlebotomy has been rated one of U.S. News and World Report’s "Best Jobs"!
Phlebotomists draw blood from patients or donors in hospitals, blood banks, or health facilities for analysis and medical use. The Phlebotomy/ECG Program1 at ANU is designed to prepare students for entry-level careers as a phlebotomist and/or ECG technician. In this program, you will also learn to perform diagnostic tests to assess a patient’s heart rhythm and rate and record the electrocardiogram (ECG). These two skills are key components of working in medical support at most healthcare facilities.
The Phlebotomist + ECG program prepares students to sit for the National Certified Phlebotomy Technician (NCPT) and National ECG Technician (NCET) exams administered by the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT). With preparation for these certifications and hands-on experience in labs and externships, students in this program gain the knowledge and real-world experience needed to succeed in this career.
