Doctor of Medicine (MD)

Based on the standardized Medical Education Model Core Curriculum, students work in small group tutorials using patient models to acquire necessary medical knowledge about organs and systems and incorporate it into their clinical knowledge. After learning the introductory knowledge of medicine during the 1st year, students will learn basic and social medicine during the 2nd and 3rd year, basic clinical skills such as simulated cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training, medical interviewing, and other techniques used in clinical practice until the end of 4th year. By the end of the 4th year, students take national achievement examinations, Computer-Based Testing (CBT) and Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE), to evaluate their general medical knowledge and clinical skills, and receive a provisional license as a student doctor (clinical training license). During the 1st and 2nd semesters of the 5th year, students participate actively in a clinical clerkship, rotating through all clinical departments. During the 3rd semester of the 5th year and the 1st semester of the 6th year, students may choose electives among various clinical departments and from off-campus clinical facilities, 3 nearby universities and their affiliated hospitals, or overseas facilities.
